Create Your First Project

You've set up prompts and global context. Now let's organize your work with Projects — dedicated workspaces where context stays focused and relevant.

What Are Projects?

A project is a container for related work. It holds:

  • A description the AI reads in every chat
  • Files you attach as reference material
  • Conversations grouped together
  • Memories the AI learns over time (we'll cover this later)

Think of projects as context boundaries. Your consulting client doesn't need to know about your side business. Your product launch doesn't need context from your hiring work. Projects keep contexts separate but accessible.

Creating Your First Project

  1. Click New Project in the sidebar
  2. Enter a name (e.g., "Q1 Marketing Campaign")
  3. Write a description (this is the important part — see below)
  4. Click Create

Your project now has its own page with a clean URL you can bookmark.

Writing a Good Project Description

Your project description is sent to the AI in every conversation within that project. This is powerful — write it well and you'll never have to explain the project again.

Include:

  • What you're working on
  • Goals and success criteria
  • Key constraints or requirements
  • Target audience (if relevant)
  • Important context the AI should always know

Example:

Website Redesign Project

Redesigning our company website to improve conversions and
modernize the look. Target launch: end of Q2.

Goals:
- Increase demo signups by 25%
- Reduce bounce rate on pricing page
- Mobile-first responsive design

Target audience: Small business owners looking for inventory
management software. Not technical — value simplicity and clarity.

Brand voice: Professional but approachable. Avoid jargon.
Use "you" and "your" liberally.

When you chat inside this project, the AI already knows all of this. You can jump straight to "What should the hero section emphasize?" without setup.

Adding Files to Your Project

Projects can hold reference documents:

  1. Open your project page
  2. Find Project Info in Quick Actions (right side)
  3. Click Upload to add new files, or From Library to attach existing ones
  4. Drag and drop also works

What to attach:

  • Brand guidelines
  • Strategy documents
  • Research or data
  • Reference materials
  • Templates or examples

How files work: The AI sees file names in every chat (so name them clearly). To share actual contents, attach a file directly in a chat message when you need the AI to read it.
